five pounds to threepence, in fitted case gilt stamped with Royal coat of arms, in pouch with manuscript notation Mint proofs, Victoria Coins (New Issue) 1893, together with correspondence regarding the original purchase of the set comprising: a cutting from The Standard, Tuesday January 31, 1893 detailing the new coinage, a letter from Bryan Cookson to Rev Bayly regarding the new set 1st Feb 1893, a letter from Mr Bryan Edward Cookson to the Master of the Mint requesting to be placed on the list of applicants for a "specimen set" 6th Feb 1893, and a printed and manuscript acknowledgement from the Royal Mint 7 Feb 1893, with envelope.
