The cover of each decorated with the photographic transfer prints of a man and woman, the tinned interiors stamped J. CHALMERS, AUCHINLECK, with integral hinges
1 7/8in. (9.8cm.) wide;
A Muchline ware treen beaker of two specimen woods, transfer decorated with a scene of Robert Burn's cottage, and inscribed MEMORIAL OF BURNS. The dark portions of this wood are warranted to have grown on the banks of the Ayr. And the light on the banks of the Doon, BOUGHT IN THE COTTAGE; a Mauchline ware satin birch purse, decorated with a scene of Robert Burn's Monument and Brig O'Doon, and Alloway Kirk; a boxwood powder jar, the cover later emblazoned with a naive interpretation of the Royal Arms; a treen snuffbox; a papier mâché snuffbox, the cover decorated with a tinted transfer print of a Napoleonic batle scene; and a Tunbridge ware rosewood nutmeg grater, the cover with geometric parquetry inlay (8)
