A very satisfactory vintage. Thanks to a hot summer and favourable ripening conditions, a decent sized harvest of very attractive wines. Judging by my notes, the quality is unusually even and though there was a deficit of acidity in some quarters, I have found the wines well balanced, their ripeness and flesh very appealing. Most are perfect now, while the firmer, more acidic '96s are taking their time. MB. Vintage Wine. 2002.
