Lot Essay

Owen Wood (1929-2003) was a reknowned book, magazine and newspaper illustrator. Among the many books he illustarted were Hugh Johnson's Wine (1966) and The Owl and the Pussy Cat and Other Nonsense by Edward Lear (1978). Wood regarded among his most successful commissions the erotic drawings that he executed for the men's magazine Club International in the mid 1970s.
