The drum case with automaton waterfall feature to the top, comprising six revolving glass spiral-twist rods, the scroll supports with foliate cast swag mounts to all sides, pierced ormolu sound frets to the sides, the base raised on a giltwood turn-table plinth, the white enamel Roman dial with pierced ormolu hands, the four pillar movement with partially cut-away circular plates, twin chain fusees for the going and strike/chime trains, anchor escapement with gridiron pendulum, hour strike on bell and quarter chimes on two bells, with further chain and fusee above the plates for music and automaton work, the music via a 3½in. pinned barrel, with on/off lever to rear, trips for quarter chimes and music/automaton work, the back plate with engraved border and signed J.H. Borrell/LONDON -- 25in. (63.5cm.) high
