A George IV Scottish mahogany and line inlaid longcase clock, circa 1820
The breakarch hood with glazed circular side panels and gilt-brass capped mock columns, with satinwood inlays to the trunk door and satinwood and ebony lines to the flanking half columns, on conforming plinth now lacking feet, the 12½in. diameter painted Roman dial with gilt border, subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed ALEX.R SIM, ABERDEEN, pierced steel hands, pinned directly to the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 82½in. (210cm.) high
