An important panel of Milanese bobbin lace, worked with an eagle holding a ring and laurel wreath, possibly celebrating the glory of the Duke of Milan, the remaining field worked with vases of flowers, horses, dogs, butterflies and birds--17 x 11½in. (43 x 29cm.), mounted on peach silk, circa 1740
