Oribe-style, late Edo-Meiji period (19th century), impressed seal on the base Shuntai [Kato Shuntai (1802-1877)],
molded as a Chinese boy holding the treasure sack of Hotei, the water container decorated with a mottled brown and green glaze, the green running in drips from the rim and showing a crackle

With wood box inscribed Ao Oribe karako mimi tsuki mizusahi: Seto Kato Shuntai zo (Green Oribe water container with Chinese boy design by Kato Shuntai of Seto) and signed Shoei Tatsubosai shiki (judged by Shoei Tatsubosai) and sealed
