almost certainly first half 19th century, possibly German,
with oval backs carved with guilloche, bead-and-reel and ribbon-twist decoration with rocaille and acanthus scrolled arms and C-scroll decorated legs on claw feet, the padded back, arms and seat upholstered in blue cotton, regilt (4)
