William Anderson was one of the best known British marine artists; he exhibited forty-five works at the Royal Academy. His early training as a shipwright is refelected in the accuracy of his drawing. What makes his watercolor so attractive is his ability to include meticulous detail without distracting from the overall charm of composition.
