"Here is some lost history but, in this case, deliberately so. Overby withdrew from active participation in the art world after some unfortunate experiences in the '70s. His work came to my attention in the mid-'90s. At that time I had finally come to grips with the astounding inventiveness of '70s post-minimalism and recognized in his work a kinship with sculptors several decades his junior, such as Rachel Whiteread. In an odd sense, he remains an "emerging" artist and there is much more that we have yet to see."
