Gilt chain fusee movement with verge escapement, pierced grills to pillars, white enamel dial with roman numerals, arcaded minute track, Arabic five minute markers, blued steel beetle and poker hands, plain inner gold case with London hall marks for 1778, the outer gold repousse case decorated with symmetrical Roccoco scroll decoration of a Classical scene of high relief, further outer glaze, gilt metal case covered with shagreen and applied with gold piques, movement signed, 54mm.
