Lot Essay

Daw's house at Owl Creek had a view "...across the forest and small plantations to the Glasshouse Mountains. The nine volcanic plugs were so named by Captain Cook's expedition because of their resemblance to the glass furnaces of Yorkshire". (N Weston, Lawrence Daws, Sydney, p. 123)
