A HUANGHUALI RECESSED LEG TABLE, JIAOTOUSUN QIAOTOUAN
17th century
The single plank top with 'ice-plate' edge terminating in everted 'bird's tail' ends and supported on trestles, the square legs with raised, 'two-incense-stick' beading joined by slightly humped shoe feet and framing a large inset opening below a smaller panel with a pierced stylized flower, flanked by ruyi fungus, the straight, beaded apron continuing on to the spandrels carved in imitation of archaic jade in the form of a crested phoenix
