Lot Essay

According to J. Bautze, op. cit., p. 16, this painting comes from the workshop of one of Jahangir's Muslim generals. Comparable works are in the Earnest C. and Jane Werner Watson collection, and another, attributed to Bikaner, is in the Paul F. Walter collection.
