A LARGE CARVED PALE SANDSTONE JALI SCREEN
Mughal India, 17th/18th century
In two parts, together forming an arch of pierced fish-scale motifs, the cusped spandrels carved on one side with scrolling floral sprays, the other side carved with a rosette, in a broad border of alternating rosettes and cartouches left plain against pierced grounds, plain outer stripe, corners shaped to fit original setting, very slight rubbing
