Inlaid overall with parquetry panels, the grey-veined white marble top surmounted by a three-quarter pierced gallery, above two frieze drawers and a sliding roll-top, enclosing a fitted interior with a gilt-tooled green leather-lined writing-surface and two drawers, surmounted by an open compartment and two drawers, further surmounted by an open compartment and two drawers, above three base drawers and a kneehole, flanked by a drawer to each side, on square tapering legs and brass feet, numbered to the reverse V4988E, one brass cap lacking, minor losses to the veneers
