A Dutch gilt-brass great wheel skeleton timepiece
A. Roos, Utrecht, mid 19th Century
The scroll frame with six pillars secured by screws and signed A. Roos/Utrecht, resting on bulbous feet and secured to an ebonised plinth with brass bolts through the lower pillars, the white enamel Roman chapter ring with skeletonised star design to the centre and blued steel moon hands, the single barrel movement of two week duration and with with pinwheel deadbeat escapement, wheels with six crossings; formerly under glass dome
