A Dutch satinwood, harewood, marquetry, black and gilt-japanned sideboard 'klapbuffet' Circa 1780-1795
Banded and crossbanded overall, the moulded rectangular canted hinged top with two hinged shelves to the reverse and an open compartment (lacking pewter basin), with a drawer to each side, above a door centred by a panel decorated with stylised Chinese landscape with pagodas, flanked to either side by a circular panel decorated with various flowers and suspended from a ribbon-tie, enclosing a plain interior with one shelf, on square tapering legs, on brass bun feet
