The hall mark Jing wei tang zhi may be translated, 'Made for the hall of respectful awe'.
A fine pair of blue-glazed bowls made for the same hall was sold in these rooms, 3 June 1993, lot 262 and another group of bowls and dishes with brown-dressed rims sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 16-17 January 1989, lots 811 and 812.
