YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE-SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)

Yongzheng famille rose wares glazed on the reverse in colors other than ruby-red enamel are rare. A Yongzheng-marked dish of similar design, but covered on the reverse with a dark blue glaze, was sold at Sotheby's, Hong Kong, 29 November 1978, lot 314. Compare, also, the pair of lime-green-backed Qianlong-marked dishes decorated on the interior with a similar design of scattered flowerheads, from the Edward T. Chow Collection, sold at Sotheby's, Hong Kong, 25 November 1980, lot 167, and later illustrated in The K. M. Lui Collection, Hong Kong, 1989, p. 167, no. 136.
