VOSNE ROMANEE, CUVEE DUVAULT-BLOCHET
This likely one off release from Romanée-Conti was due to the fact that Aubert de Villaine thought the fruit so good from his young vines that he could not bring himself to sell it off. Carefully selected from all five of the Domaines red Grand Cru's, predominantly La Taché. Named after de Villaines ancestor, Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet who purchased the Romanée-Conti vineyard on November 25 1869.
Vosne-Romanée, Cuvée Duvault Blochet--Vintage 1999
Côte de Nuits, Domanine de la Romanée-Conti
In two six-bottle original wooden cases
"...I was very taken by it: fairly deep with an immature violet rum. In the long-poured glass it had a glorious nose, meaty, chocolatey, spicy and, freshly poured, pleasant sweetness, weight. Despite its 'second wine' implication, attractive and elegant. At Corney & Barrow, Feb 2002 *(***) Say 2004-2012. (I secured a small allocation and can't wait.)" MB, Vintage Wine
