WILLIAMS SELYEM
Established in 1981, the dynamic duo of Burt Williams and Ed Selyem
actually released a Zinfandel as their first wine. A year later they
turned their focus to Pinot Noir and the rest they say is history.
It was the close relationships with many of Sonoma's best Pinot Noir
growers that enabled Williams Selyem access to the best fruit from the best vineyards.
By the late 1980's both had left their respective professions to pursue wine fulltime. Always a small concern, production has risen to almost 7,000 cases a year, with some of the single vineyard bottlings only producing 150 - 200 cases, this is wine making on a personal level.
