The cylindrical vase cast in low-relief with a view of the peak of Mount Fuji at dusk from a view of pines, the snow peak of the mountain finished in silver and the bands of mist at the foot of the mountain and on the reverse in gold dust, the body patinated a powder tea green
15 1/8in. (38.5cm.) high
With wood box signed Toto ju Natsume Takanori zo (Made by Natsume Takanori of the Eastern capital) and sealed, and inscribed Fujisangaku Shoun chodo hanaike (Flower vase with Mount Fuji carved by Shoun)
