Painted on the interior in underglaze cobalt-blue with a band of netting on the flared sides surrounding a twelve-sided reserve of clouds, some in the shape of pulloch'o fungus, and a large flowerhead in the flat cavetto, the exterior also painted in underglaze-blue with twelve auspicious Chinese characters, six reading "long life" and six "good fortune," one per facet, below a double-ring at the top edge and above a single line around the foot, the dish also covered by a glossy transparent glaze of blue cast; twelve-sided foot rim unglazed, recessed base glazed
