Lot Essay

Cf. Gaye Blake Roberts, Mason's, The First Two Hundred Years (London, 1996), p. 94, pl. 95 for a similar ewer. The form is based on an unpublished pattern book from the Wedgwood factory, in turn based on an unknown source, possibly Antique.
