The Voyages & Travels of the Ambassadors sent by Frederick Duke of Holstein, to the Great Duke of Muscovy, and the King of Persia. Begun in the Year MDCXXXIII and finished in MDCXXXIX. Containing a compleat history of Muscovy, Tartary, Persia and other adjacent countries, London: for Thomas Dring and John Starkey, 1662. 2 volumes in one, 2° (284 x 185mm.). Engraved frontispiece, 7 double-page or folding maps, 3 engraved portraits. (Frontispiece and title with neatly repaired tears, 1st map very closely shaved just touching image, 2nd map with short tear, one or two small rust holes affecting text, Nnnn2 with corner torn away, occasional mainly light spotting and browning). Later calf, covers with blind-stamped borders (re-backed, a little rubbed and scuffed with repairs). Provenance: Archibald Kerr (initials on title). Archibald Kerr was British Ambassador to China during World War II.
