A True and Exact Description of the most celebrated East-India Coasts of Malabar and Coromandel, also of the Isle of Ceylon, London: A. & J. Churchill, [1732?]. 2° (307 x 191mm.). 2 engraved portraits, additional engraved title, 35 engraved maps and plates, 46 half page illustrations, 3 folding tables. (Lacking one illustration, omitted by printer on 5M with ink inscription, "This blank was left by mistake", a few plates with closely shaved margins or short tears, Dddd3 with small marginal hole, paper from which adhered onto opposing map, Kkkk4 and Zzzz2 with piece torn from margins, occasional light spotting). Later calf (upper joint splitting, rubbed and scuffed). Provenance: John Walker Heneage (bookplate).
Volume III of A. and J. Churchill's A Collection of Voyages and Travels (London, 1704-1732). Cox I, 283: "The author was a Dutch missionary in the Malabar and Coromandel districts. His narrative gives considerable information on the Dutch settlements in Southern India. He bears witness to the ravages of the dreaded Malabar pirates who still infested the western coasts of India."
