Stipple-engraved portrait frontispiece, 65 plates, maps, views and tables only (of 66) comprising one engraved map only (of 2), 62 engraved or aquatint plates, 10 hand-coloured, one leaf of engraved music and 2 folding letterpress tables. (Folding map of Java and half-titles lacking, some browning and spotting.) Contemporary half russia (joints of vol. one repaired but joints of both vols. split, spines chipped).
