(A few leaves and one or two plates with short tears, library stamps on titles, numbers in red stamped or written on lower margin of first leaves after titles, occasional light spotting, browning and dampstaining). Contemporary calf (rubbed and scuffed with losses to spines). Provenance: David Girard (bookplates); Vermont Historical Society (presentation plate on front endpapers). Second edition. "Edited by René-Auguste-Constantin de Renneville. The work is mainly a translation of Commelin's "Begin en Voortang ", and each volume is divided into two parts" (Sabin 68454).
