Engraved title in each vol., additional printed titles, title in vol. one printed in red and black, 61 engraved plates, 21 double-page and 2 folding, 15 double-page engraved maps, with the final leaf of list of plates. (Engraved title in vol. one almost detached, title and first few leaves in vol. one waterstained, small rusthole in upper margin of A1-3, Dd4 with small hole causing loss of one or 2 letters, wormhole from Ooo1 to end causing loss of a few letters in vol. one, a plate in vol. II cleanly torn, 2 plates detached, occasional spotting.) Contemporary panelled mottled calf, arabesque design stamped in blind on sides (head of spine of vol. one chipped, part of upper compartment of vol. IV torn away, lightly rubbed). FIRST EDITION.
