Fine presentation inscription, dated the day before Shackleton sailed from Liverpool for Buenos Aires via New York on his mission to South America.
[With:] SWINFORD family. Seven volumes of typescript (2 vols) and manuscript (5 vols.) material. 1858-1894. 4to and folio. Comprising, 1 typescript and 1 roneo'd copy of a 'History of the Swinford Family' by Frederick Swinford, dated December 1894; a manuscript recipe book, with inscription at front 'F.H. Swinford Minster Abbey. February 1865.'; a manuscript commonplace book, with inscription at front 'M.A. Swinford Minster Abbey, 1858.'; three manuscript account books detailing the distribution of money from the estate of John Swinford between February 1869 and December 1884, the Rev. S. Swinford's copies with his signature in two volumes.
