FOUR SAMSON FIGURES EMBLEMATIC OF THE SENSES,
late 19th century, blue crossed lines marks to the backs, after models by J.J. Kändler,
each modelled in the Meissen taste as a scantily clad standing nymph, on a square base: 'Scent' as a nymph beside a pot-pourri vase, a hound at her feet; 'Touch' with a parrot pecking her finger, a turtle beneath her foot; 'Taste' holding an apple, attended by a monkey beside a pedestal; and 'Sight' holding a spy glass and a looking glass, an eagle at her side
