An unusual antique Akstafa rug, South Caucasus
The shaded charcoal-black field with polychrome hooked lozenges and small rosettes around four ivory and light brick-red large Chajli octagon medallions, containing stylised hooked bars and small floral octagons together with hooked panel centrepiece, in an ivory border of polychrome hooked and floral panels between mill-pattern and barber-pole stripes, outer plain stripe, small old reweaves on edges, slight even wear, some repiling on field (very well blend)
