A French bronze group of a gladiator entitled 'Plaudite Cives'
After Jean Leon Gérôme (1824-1904), cast by the Siot Foundry, Paris, circa 1900
The gladiator standing over the defeated dying lion, signed J.L GEROME and stamped to the reverse Siot Paris with indistinct seriel number
21½in. (54.5cm.) wide, 14 7/8in. (37.7cm.) high
