Each of outscrolled form, the cusion covered in pink and beige striped damask over ball feet, one with remnant of paper label to underside, decorated to both sides, the bases solid mahogany, with traces of old gilding under paint, two feet to one later

The design for these stools directly relates to a pattern for a 'Grecian footstool' published in R. Ackermann's Repository of Arts of 1826, pl. 58 (reproduced here). Ackermann praises this type of stool for its comfort and stability (see P. Agius, ed., Ackermann's Regency Furniture and Interiors, London, 1984, p.88).
