A façon de Venise spoon
Late 17th or early 18th Century, Venice
The oval bowl with traces of gilding remaining to the rim, the square-section stem applied with gilt-enriched bands of zig-zag trailed decoration and studded with red glass 'jewels', the terminal with further gilt trailed decoration and applied 'jewels' beneath a finial of a dove surrounded by four smaller birds
