Bearing counterfeited London marks, also struck with French import mark of 1893-1970 and an Austria-Hungary import mark of 1866-1937
Square plain foot, urn-shaped on a domed circular base decorated with acanthus leaves rising to a short stem, the lower part of the body chased and embossed with acanthus leaves, above a band of meander and an upper band of drapery swags, at both sides of the body a vacant medaillion with beaded rim, two foliate handles with applied Bacchus heads, detachable domed cover, the border chased and embossed with grapes and vines against matted ground, plain band above, the domed partly fluted centre with acanthus leaves, beaded rim, bud finial, marked on base and cover
