Mark of Cornelis van Baaren, Amsterdam, 1895; the inkstand with mark of Mappin & Webb Ltd, London, 1914, also struck with retailer's mark of Mappin & Webb Ltd
Plain pear-shaped body, cane handle, shaped spout, hinged slightly domed cover (finial missing); the inkwell on four scroll supports, shaped rectangular, central cut-glass inkpot with hinged silver-mounted cover, C-scroll and foliate rims, marked on bases, spout and inside cover
