A Dutch Delft blue and white square pastoral plaque
Late 17th Century
After a painting by Nicolaas Berghem (1620-1683), depicting a huge standing cow milked by a kneeled maiden, flanked by a standing peasant girl holding a basket beside a dog, further with shrubbery and a domed tea house or Theekoepeltje to the left, within a trellised border enhanced with flowerheads, with canted corners, the upper part pierced with two openings for hanging, within a recessed black wooden frame outlined in gilt
