AN IZNIK POTTERY DISH
Ottoman Turkey, early 17th century
With sloping rim on short foot, the interior with a central roundel containing an interlaced pattern of blue and black strapwork forming red and turquoise hexagonal panels, in a frame of blue leaves and red dotted motifs, the border with cusped S-motifs alternating with panels of spiralling motifs, the exterior with alternating green roundels and blue trefoil-motifs, fritted rim retouched, foot and rim drilled
