Mughal India, probably Allahabad, early 17th century
Gouache heightened with gold on paper, the Shah standing in a landscape holding a gun and being presented with a young fawn, the body of its mother being carried out of a river by attendants, areas of retouching including most faces, mounted on card with blue margins with gold floral meander
