West Anatolia, 18th century
The ivory field with three floral spray columns extending into an oatmeal mihrab arch with feathery leaf design, a cross-panel above and below containing stylised geometric and angular motifs, in a shaded brown border of flowerheads and angular floral sprays between pale blue geometric motif and charcoal-black floral meander stripes and narrow zigzag and S-motif minor stripes, short blue kilim strip at each end, natural corrosion in the brown, even overall wear, velcro backing strip at each end
