A SILK SOUF KASHAN PRAYER CARPET

The golden silk flatwoven field overlayed with stylised flowering vases beneath arabesque niches at one end extending into a dense field of flowering vases issuing delicate tendrils and floral sprays, beneath a powder-blue cusped mihrab arch with leafy vine issuing palmettes and flowerheads, in a pictorial cartouche border alternating with flowering vases between sea-green and shaded burgundy floral meander minor stripes and a narrow geometric outer stripe, minor areas of wear, original golden silk fringes, overall very good condition
