North West Persia, circa 1890
Of "Garden" design, the field with six columns of four rectangles each containing a variety of floral sprays, trees and medallions, divided by broad ivory bands with inscription cartouches and a floral roundel at each intersection, in a rust-red inscription cartouche border with floral sprays between ivory floral meander and blue key-pattern minor stripes, localised areas of wear, small patch repairs, material backing strips on three sides
