The center painted with a seascape and ships, the border with five cartouches containing a gilt Cyrillic letter of the Imperial yacht Niksa on blue ground, within elaborate ciselé scrolls and blossoms, the reverse with the Russian inscription 'after the pic[ture] by Aivazovskii', marked under the base
