marked with unrecorded Cyrillic workmaster's initials 'G.L', Moscow, 1896-1908
Comprising, a teapot, a milk jug, a covered sugar bowl and tongs; each imitating saddle-bags cloth with stylized scrolling foliage within a leaf border, the high-domed caps joined to the bodies by link chains, the spouts with stopper spouts joined by similar chains, each piece engraved under the base with the monogram R.C.W., marked under bases

Lot Essay

The design of the above service is based on the flasks carried by the water carriers in the Ottoman army in the XVIII Century. There, flasks were made of thick leather with embroidery decorations.
