Each on rectangular base chased with stiff-leaf border, the columnar shaft with drapery swags and rosettes, rising to a drapery-clad vase-form socket, with detachable circular wax-pan, each marked under base, the sockets with later Dutch control marks; together with a Dutch silver tobacco box, mark of Cornelius de Gidts, Gouda, 1815, rectangular, with bright-cut flower heads and wrigglework, marked on bezel
The candlesticks 11½in. (29.2cm.) high, 32oz. 10dwt. (1021gr.); the tobacco box 4¾in. (11.8cm.) long, 4oz. 10dwt. (151gr.) (3)
