the rare bisque character shoulderhead with upturned face, parted lips, painted eyes and moulded moustache and beard, kneeling on paper-covered base, the single-air movement causing him to balance a rotating disc in his mouth and 'juggle' coloured wood balls by lifting each arm alternately, in striped stockings, cotton breeches and tunic -- 13½in. (33cm.), German, circa 1860.
