A Scottish Silver-mounted Horn Snuff Mull
Apparently unmarked, 18th century
of oval capstan form, the lid with a butterfly shaped hinge, applied with an oval plaque engraved with a motto above a crowned thistle and crossed swords, the lid lined with chamois leather, the thumbpiece engraved Ecce nuno, the base plate engraved Qui scis Diem Veniet - 6.3cm. (2½in.) high.
